Milk:
Exodus 3:8 “So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—…”

Isaiah 60:16 “You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed at royal breasts. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

1 Peter 2:2-3 “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”

Meat:
Hebrews 5:12-13 “In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”

2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Bread:
Matthew 26:26 “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12 ”Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Hebrews 10:25 ”Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Fruit:
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

John 15:4-5 “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Fast Food:
Sorry, out of season, not available.

Grace:
Deuteronomy 8:10 “When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which He hath given thee.”

Here is my commitment to you:

  1. I will always have a full glass of milk for you. We will constantly review the foundations of our faith again and again. We will never forget where we come from…what we believe…or why we believe it.
  2. I will always serve you steak. Big juicy steaks that we can digest together. I won’t just tell you “Thus saith”…I’ll show you what to do with it…and how to apply it.
  3. I will share with you my bread of fellowship. I am here for you. I will fight the lion and the bear with you and I will stand in the gap.
  4. I’ll show you how to abide…by word and by example…so that your fruit is the largest and sweetest.
  5. But what I won’t do is serve you “fast food.” That’s for you to eat when you’re on the run. Tonight isn’t about “fast”…it’s about “feast.” Tonight isn’t about speeding up…it’s about slowing down…All week we hurry, rush, and run…and then wonder why we have indigestion…not tonight…eat slowly…and rest…This is Shabbat.
